Bill and Gene Linhart knew little about the nursery business back in 1959 when they left farming to purchase seven and a half acres in the quaint village of New Springfield, Ohio. 

What this young couple lacked in know-how, they made up for in hard work and a commitment to treat the customer like they would like to be treated. 

Their first building was a little wooden structure about the size of a one car garage. Since then this building has been the base for additions, teardowns, and more additions until its grown to the 20,000 square foot facility it is today. 

In 1969 with the business growing and a need to expand, the adjacent Elser farm was purchased giving TOWN 'N COUNTRY a total of 40 acres.

The business now hosts a full service florist shop, a nursery and garden center, country store, antique museum, year round Christmas room, pond shop and menagerie of animals. 

Throughout the years the Linhart's have dismantled and moved historic structures to their nursery.  TOWN 'N COUNTRY'S beautiful setting, nursery, shops, historic structures and country friendliness has made it a favorite stop for shoppers from across Ohio and Pennsylvania.
